Chelsea defender David Luiz says the Blues’ fixture congestion isn’t a problem as it means fewer ‘boring’ training sessions.
Chelsea could rack up an incredible 70 matches this season, having started the campaign competing for seven different titles.
But Luiz, who himself has made 41 appearances for the Blues already this term, says more fixtures can only be a good thing if it means avoiding training sessions.
‘Personally for me it is amazing,’ said the Brazilian. ‘I like to play games. I don’t like to train, it’s boring sometimes.
‘I love to play games, so if I had to play every day I would want to. You need to rest sometimes but I prefer to play games than training, for sure.

‘I want to play. I want to be on the pitch. Sometimes I am tired, but when I’m on the bench I’m not tired. I love to play football.’
Chelsea host West Ham tomorrow afternoon as they continue to battle for a top four place and a win could see the Blues move up to third depending on the weekend’s other results.
‘I want to end this week with a great result on Sunday,’ Luiz added.
‘It’s a difficult game but we play at home and we need to win.’
