Mario Balotelli has urged Manchester City not to sack manager Roberto Mancini amid growing speculation about the Italian’s future.
City, who are 12 points behind rivals Manchester United in the title race, are all but certain to surrender their Premier League crown, and speculation about Mancini’s future is rife.
The likes of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Manuel Pellegrini have all been mentioned as possible successors in the last few days, but Balotelli, who was sold by Mancini to AC Milan in January, believe the club should stand by the 48-year-old.

‘There is nobody better for City. Most importantly, the players like him,’ said Balotelli.
‘If you asked who they want next season, every single player would say Roberto. He’s not just their coach but also their friend.’
Balotelli went on to compare Mancini to United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, suggesting that while City may well endure a barren season, they will bounce back.

‘Look at the success Roberto has had, the FA Cup and a first championship in over 40 years. Even Alex Ferguson does not win a trophy every year, but he always comes back.’
The comments come days after reports suggested that Mancini will be given until the end of the season to show he is the right man for City, or they will look to replace him.
As well as Mourinho, Ancelotti and Pellegrini, Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has also been mentioned as a possible alternative.
