Tottenham had Gareth Bale to thank yet again as the winger’s winner sent his side into third place in the Premier League.
The Welshman’s stunning last minute goal floored West Ham, who had looked to have claimed a share of the spoils on the 20th anniversary of former Hammers player Bobby Moore’s death.
After a frenetic opening, Bale opened the scoring when he drilled a low shot past Jussi Jaaskelainen from the edge of the area in the 13th minute.
However, Spurs’ lead lasted just 12 minutes as Andy Carroll was caught by Scott Parker inside the area and the striker dusted himself off to expertly convert the penalty.

In the second half, Spurs should have gone ahead but Emmanuel Adebayor headed straight at Jaaskelainen with the goal at his mercy
The miss looked to have been costly when Joe Cole latched onto a long ball from Joey O’Brien and bobbled his shot past Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Spurs pushed for an equaliser and Jaaskelainen denied Bale, Adebayor and Caulker but couldn’t stop Gylfi Sigurdsson bundling the ball home in the 76th minute.
Just when it looked like the Hammers would claim a point, Bale smacked his 15th league goal of the season into the top corner to win the match for Andre Villas-Boas’ side.
