Fabio Borini out for season but Liverpool buoyed by impressive Philippe Coutinho

Fabio Borini sustained a suspected dislocated shoulder in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Swansea, ruling him out for the season.
The striker fell awkwardly and Liverpool – having used all three substitutes – finished with ten men.
‘It looks like Fabio Borini has dislocated his shoulder, so that would put him out for the rest of the season,’ said boss Brendan Rodgers.
Despite the blow, Rodgers was thrilled with his side’s display – especially the performance of Brazilian youngster Philippe Coutinho.
‘He is a really talented player. He’s only 20 but he’s had good experience of playing at the highest level,’ he added.
“He’ll take a bit of time to adapt to the whole tempo of the English game as he’s come from Italy where the game is a little slower.

‘You saw the quality and the speed of his passing all game – he’s got wonderful game-knowledge.
‘I’ve got high hopes for him. He’s the type of player that we are trying to bring in here – a technician who has a strong character and good mentality. I’m sure he’ll progress very well.’
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup insisted he had no regrets about resting players ahead of next Sunday’s Capital One Cup final.
‘I made a lot of changes so the first to blame is me as I picked the team. But I don’t regret the changes as I was sure this team could do well,’ he said.
