The
Nerazzurri have struggled for consistency all season long but goals from
Antonio Cassano, Andrea Ranocchia and Diego Milito helped them see off
the Flying Donkeys on Sunday, who managed a consolation through Luca
Rigoni.
The result, coupled with derby rivals AC Milan's 1-1 draw at Cagliari, saw Inter move up to fourth on the table and they are now just one point away from Lazio, who currently occupy the third and final qualifying spot for the UEFA Champions League.
Admitting his side haven't been at their best in recent weeks, Stramaccioni was pleased with the way they responded to the growing criticism being directed at them.
"I think tonight [Sunday] showed that we're not dead and buried," he said on the club's official website. "We let out the frustration that has been building recently and we channelled that on the pitch.
"You saw Inter tonight [Sunday]. We're a squad, we're a team, we played like Inter."
The 37-year-old, who took over from Claudio Ranieri on an interim basis at the end of last season before being handed the job full-time last summer, was also delighted with the way that his strike trio of Cassano, Milito and Rodrigo Palacio worked together.
"It's hardly surprising that Milito, Cassano and Palacio up front give us incredible quality," Stramaccioni added.
"They worked very hard, that's what I'd asked of them and they did so. They each need to put in a shift because the group is the most important thing."
Inter are next in action on Thursday when they entertain CFR Cluj in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 32 clash.
