Real Madrid president Florentino Perez ‘plans to sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer’

Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo will be sold by Read Madrid in the summer, according to a report in Spain.
Madrid-based newspaper El Pais claims Real president Florentino Perez has been perturbed by Ronaldo’s reluctance to sign a new contract, as well as recent comments from the player in which he hinted his future lies away from the Bernabeu.
The Portuguese claimed he wanted to see out his Real deal, which expires in 2015, but added: ‘I do not know what the future will hold.’
Ronaldo has also admitted he is open to the idea of a possible return to the Premier League – to either former club Manchester United or champions Manchester City.
Perez, though, is determined not to allow Ronaldo walk away as a free agent and wants to cash in on the former Old Trafford star while he can still recoup some, if not all, of the £80million the club paid United for his services.
If all goes to plan, Perez wants to use that revenue to fund a revamp of Real’s squad in the close-season.
Tottenham ace Gareth Bale, Malaga playmaker Isco, Manchester City’s David Silva and Santos superstar Neymar are all targets for Perez as he seeks re-election in the summer.
