The star’s future at Real Madrid has come under intense scrutiny this season, and a world record transfer to either Paris Saint Germain or City has been mooted.
However, the Portuguese, who spent six successful seasons as a United player, insists that – although he’d struggle to move to the blue half of Manchester – nothing is impossible in football.
‘The future? I don’t know – only God know the future,’ Ronaldo told The Sun.
‘I can’t say I’m never going back to Manchester United either – but I can say I’m good here in Madrid and I want to be here.’
The 28-year-old also revealed his relief to escape unscathed from a nasty car crash during his time at Old Trafford back in 2009.
Ronaldo totalled his Ferrari in a tunnel near Manchester airport, and said: ‘I didn’t care about the car to be honest — I cared about my legs! When I climbed out I smiled. I thought, “It’s OK, I’m good”. The car is not important, your life is the most important.’
