As TV sports add specialized analysts beyond former players and coaches
-- such as using sports business experts, former general managers and
ex-referees -- here's the latest: CBS' NFL coverage which use a surgeon.

CBS will announce that Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who operated on Tom Brady's knee in 2008 and is the team physician for the MLB Los Angeles Dodgers, will be on call all season to explain injuries and analyze injury reports.
Says CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus in a statement: "Analyzing and assessing injuries are often important storylines throughout the season (and) adding Neal's expertise and opinions to our broadcasts will give our viewers a new and unique perspective."
Especially if the surgeon is willing to opine on whether certain injuries will likely lead to long-term injuries for players.
